After a week in Seoul where we literally had the time of our lives, we got to attend the first ever YouTube Music Awards concert!

From our hotel the YouTube crew we had been with all week left on a bus with purple shwag velvet interior for the concert. We knew that Sistar, Miss A, 4 Minute, and SHinee among other were going to perform but we still had very little idea what to expect besides that.

The venue was Kintex, which is located slightly outside of Seoul proper but close enough that it wasn’t really that far away from the hotel. We arrived and immediately we got more excited because YouTube signs were hung outside! Then they gave us arm bands to wear and put on our wrists. We then enter the concert hall and were escorted over to an area all set up to take photos with everyone. Then we entered the VIP section and it was quite spacious with not that many of us in a large space. Then the concert started and it was a live event host by Kpop stars Tae-Kyung from 2PM, Min from Miss A, and Chris from EXO. And then the party really got going!

All the performers did really well, and the show was a hit with everyone there. It was our first Kpop concert ever, and what a way to be introduced to real live Kpop. We also must mention that we attended with other YouTubers who were far less familiar with Kpop than we are, and that was fun seeing their reaction to it all. Not everyone digs this type of genre, but there is no denying its popularity amongst its fans. After all, Girls Generation won 2013 Video of the Year and not a lot of people outside the Kpop sphere saw that coming.

We have to be honest, this entire week culminating in the concert we attended was a dream come true for both of us. Over the past 14 months we’ve been working on YouTube videos pretty much non-stop. I don’t know if any of you reading this make YouTube videos yourself, but to continue doing them week after week, while also holding down full time jobs at the same time is no walk in the park. Don’t get us wrong, we are IN NO WAY complaining. It was an extreme privilege to be there this past week, collabing with other awesome, successful YouTubers. We got to all make videos together!!! It had so much fun we still can’t even begin to explain it. We made new friends for life, and the whole experience left us feeling very hopeful for the future.

I guess the old adage does hold true, that hard work really does pay off in the end. The ironic part to us is, we feel like we are just getting started.

We cannot express enough our gratitude to our fans for sticking with us and watching our videos when there is such an immense choice of videos on YouTube. We love you all and couldn’t be here without you. Thanks for watching!
