“Chicago Typewriter Trio”
Acrylic on Canvas – May 2017
Recently I had taken probably my largest gap in seriously watching Korean dramas in years. I don’t want to self-diagnose it as depression, but I couldn’t focus on watching them and I just felt sad, like there was no joy in watching dramas. Kind of scary for someone who has made loving dramas her business. One day in the midst of that funk I turned on episode 1 of Chicago Typewriter. I had tried and stopped several other dramas but this one caught me from the beginning. Something about it hit home and I found myself caught up in an extremely well acted world of intrigue, suspense, mystery and I remembered what I was missing. It makes me tear up actually to just think about my mini-drama crisis. I’m going to focus on continuing to watch dramas and find more and more reasons to enjoy and appreciate it all.
