Up early on a Thursday morning and went for a long, contemplative walk. Our neighborhood is so beautiful and historic compared with what I grew up with in upsate New York. We try to go for a walk when we can, and yet I feel like I’m not able to get over to the area where the Hwasung Fortress sits enough. This day I was there around 8am, earlier enough to witness people beginning their day and seeing their routine. The sun was at a point that made everything look a little bit shinier and more briliant than usual. And, I took a meander up to where a golden Buddha sits atop a hill, and contemplated my religious upbringing.

Oh, and a lovely woman in a convenience store brought me money that I left on the counter when we were chatting. She made me day.
