All sorts of fun things happened today! I could not have predicted in a million years a day like this if I had been asked about it at the beginning of the day, but it happened.

Full day planned of tasks that needed to be completed started by dropping Steph off, and then driving around to different places including the immigration office, our P.O. Box, getting my van inspected and then going briefly to the bank. Along the way somewhere I received news that was difficult to swallow, and my reaction was real and raw.

I did make the best of it though, and funny enough so did the universe. In the end, I’m thankful for days like today because they make the easier days that much sweeter.

Oh, Richard. I am so sorry for your friend’s loss and for the pain you must be feeling about being so far away. However, thank you for sharing it with us. You didn’t need to do that and I think it was amazingly brave. You, your friend and their family will be in my prayers.

Death comes naturally in our lives, hard thing is coping up with the loss and pain. Expats like you both and me,faces various challenges everyday…(often times) alone. That’s why faith in God counts. Faith in someone who is powerful and able. Been abroad myself for almost 15years now,alone/single. Experienced loved ones who passed away, leaving me speechless, hurt, pained. Just like what you said Rich,I can’t do anything. I cried a lot when my grandfather left,I still cry whenever I miss him and ask my God, the Lord Jesus Christ to comfort me. And He is able. God bless you both!
