We all know You Who Came From The Stars was a smash hit in Kdramaland! But whatever happened to Heirs? Of course it was the #2 fan voted Korean drama of 2013 by you guyz, but somehow it already exists in the shadow of Kim Soo Hyun and alien hype. I wonder if it had anything to do with character chemistry?

Thoughts? ^^

I haven’t yet watched You Who Came From the Stars but I have read many reviews (I’ll get to watching it eventually but my current drama list is long). I agree with you that a lot of it has to do with character chemistry. The kisses in Heirs did look painful. That’s one thing I don’t like about some Kdramas. I don’t like it when the girls look scared, uncomfortable or shocked (unless they melt into the arms of the man after the initial shock). I don’t want to criticize Heirs, because I know many people loved it and are huge Lee Min Ho fans. I don’t dislike him, but he’s not one of my favourites. I honestly stopped watching Heirs quite some time ago with two episodes left. In my opinion, Kdrama kisses don’t have to be super passionate to make a good drama, but it does help. If there isn’t a passionate kiss, than the characters need to convince us of their connection despite the lack of great kisses. Personally, I haven’t yet seen this with either of these actors. This was also my main issue with Boys Over Flowers. I’m more of a ahjussi fan though. I tend to be drawn more to actors in their mid 30s. My fave actors (who know how to smooch) are Jang Hyuk, Gong Yoo, So Ji Sub and Tw actor/singer Vaness Wu.
