Abstract Acrylic on Canvas – July 2016
I wanted to paint a butterfly. I wanted it to be colorful and look as though it’s almost breaking apart and falling to pieces. I think that this painting captures that desire. It was the second painting of the night. I started off with a more yellow feel but felt that it was too warm for what I was going for. Besides, my favorite butterflies have always been blue. It’s named Impavid because I like that the word means without fear or bold. In many ways this word describes how I often feel when I paint live or things that I find intimidating. ☺
