Abstract Acrylic on Canvas – Aug 2014
This painting is quite possibly the most devoid of color out of any painting that I have. It is also possibly the deepest and darkest painting that I have ever created. It is quite literally a black and white piece. This is perhaps why I’ve never really taken requests before – I’m not quite sure how they will come out. My mother-in-law asked me to make a painting with a waterfall. Little did she know some of my darkest memories and moments dealt with waterfalls. Needless to say, she was never given this painting as I think it falls quite far from the colorful nature scene she was hoping to see.
But, that being said, I do like this painting. I sincerely gave it my all. It helps to express my devoid of emotions feelings that propelled me through a very emo stage in my life. It also looks a bit like some ink paintings that I’ve seen throughout my time in Asia, though that may be just the traditional ink brush that I used to paint this piece.
This artwork is a one of a kind piece hand painted by Stephanie Ishler of Hallyu Back. All artwork is for sale unless otherwise specified. If you are interested in purchasing this original painting, contact us here!
