“Solstice on Mars”

Is it just me, or do a lot of my paintings have a “Mars” theme? Lol! This painting was a personal challenge to work with a color scheme that I typically shy away from – browns and orange-mustardy colors. But what transpired is a painting that I love. It looks as if you’re on another planet – looking at the greenish blue earth and just imagining what is there. And yet, the real Mars is far more barren than this landscape. I think I prefer this mars!
