Its interesting watching the evolution of Korean Dramas over the years. In many ways Korean Dramas get better each and every year with higher production quality, and the transition to many of them being pre-recorded allowing for better working conditions for actors and production crews.

One thing that stays consistent though is the love of a good romantic comedy!

While there are likely others I could add to this list (Lee Jong Suk and Suzy!) that I didn’t include because they appear more melodramatic, I am excited to see more fun and fresh dramas. One example of this is Devious Twenty.Β  Several years ago when I first started talking about dramas I could never have imagined a drama about two twenty somethings who lived together unless there was a contractual marriage tied in.

But with The Lovers a few years ago, boundaries were pushed and it’s become acceptable to acknowledge that 20-somethings have complex and mature relationships (including sexual).Β  It’s not like it wasn’t happening regardless, but in opening up the topic for discussion maybe it can create a better context for healthier relationships among young people.Β  I’m also excited to see Kim Seul Gi back in Queen of the Ring. While I’m a bit sad she seems to only be headlining webdramas as the main lead, she’s such a charismatic actress that I most certainly want to watch it.

I’m also currently watching Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and will be checking out My Sassy Girl when it airs. Joo Won and Oh Yeon Seo are fanatastic actors and it’s bound to be a classic!

Which dramas are you currently watching? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Drama watching everyone!! πŸ™‚
