OMG I just finished writing a nearly 20 page long take home final exam!!! IT took me two entire days (pretty much non-stop!) to get it all done, but at this point it’s about 99% completed. It’s days and moments like these that REEEAAAAAAALLLY make me look forward to new dramas coming out!

So while July at this point is still pretty far off, it’s the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. These are the dramas I’ll be watching when during the summer while soak up a bit of sunshine with a glass of lemonade by my side. And, I can’t wait to hang out with the ‘Goddesses’ of the Korean dramas at the end of it.

5. Goddess of Marriage결혼의 여신

Goodness gracious who doesn’t love a love triangle? In fact, right now I’m a Goddess of Marriage if you really stop to think about it. I write long papers for days on end to complete my Master’s Degree while my husband does the laundry, edits the videos, washes the dishes, and runs to get take-out food. Can I add Princess to that list? Not that I think this Korean drama is going to be about this, but I am looking forward to this one. I have no idea who is going to get the girl, and that may just nudge me towards watching this one earlier than later.

4. Cold Eyes 감시자들

This one is a movie that comes out on July 4th, America’s independence day! And there are 3 reasons to watch this one:

A) Han Hyo Ju
B) Korea does action movies extremely well when they are not using children’s toy guns (aka Iris)
C) This one’s a movie, which means you have no excuse not to watch it cuz it’s too dang short….. unless it’s not your thing. But heck, why not?

3. Scandal 스캔들

Both of these main leads have extensive drama backgrounds, but I don’t really know either of them all too well. That’s something I should change. It’s going to have the suspenseful melodrama themes along with the romance that Korea has just been pounding out this year. If you like that sort of thing, it’s probably going to be pretty good, though I wouldn’t take my word for it.

2. The Blade and Petal 칼과 꽃

I said it in the video and I’ll say it again: I love the poster for this one! I want that hanbok, and I’ll even take the sword as well. ☺ In doing my research for this drama, I felt like I developed some sort of a connection to Kim Ok Bin. It’s a little silly, I know. But! There are photos all over the web of the girl with pink hair. My hair is purple. She’s the same age as me. AND we was a student where I know go to university. So although I’ve never seen anything that’s she’s been in before, I’m really rooting for her in this one. I will definitely watch this one, and I hope it rocks!

1. Goddess of Fire Jung Yi 불의 여신 정이

I want to sit down in an ancient period costume and throw pots with Moon geun Young. All the while Kim Bum will be replaying his expert pottery role from Boys Over Flowers giving us helpful, guided tips and pointers. I know that this one won’t be anything like that, I put myself into the drama, you know, mentally when I’m watching it. So for some small sense for me, it will be like that. It’s art, it’s a historical drama, and it’s a major world Korean event that is going to be exciting. I haven’t been this enamored to watch a historical drama in awhile.

I can’t wait for any of these dramas to come out, because when they do I know for a fact all my school work from this semester will already be finished! But hubby if you’re reading this, you know I’ll love you even more if you keep up that laundry habit you’ve developed recently. 😉
