“Twas the End of that Day’s Glo”
Acrylic on Canvas – November 2017
Day Glo colors are something I’ve long associated with Florida and beach culture. I was trying to do something pop-culture related, but to me what kept coming to mind was just the colors of that hot pink and the sea-foam aqua that you don’t typically see used elsewhere. There’s just such an unapologetic use of color in Florida. I love the non-conformity, the almost confrontational usage that self-interest and personality shines through regardless. In some cases this is the only thing that sets places apart in seas of cookie cutter communities. It is how I want to grow old at least.
