“Blue Sunset”

This was the last painting I made at my father’s house in 2018. It really reflects my state of mind at that time. I had been through a very rough year and was having a hard time finding joy in things that previously I was in awe over. I wanted desperately to not let things bother me but to let the joy and light shine through onto the canvas – and frankly to shine in my life and in my interactions with people I encounter. It’s not easy, but I find that while my joy has lost a bit of its vibrant tenancies from time to time, I can still find it if I look hard enough.
