“Digital Age”
Acrylic on Canvas – March 2016
I grew up in the 90’s-00’s, otherwise known as the digital age. It was a time of day-glo, neon, lycra, acid wash, Friends, Brittany Spears and Eureka’s Playhouse. The pulse of the time was vibrant, bold and hopeful. Technology was booming and along with it the movement of neighborhood party to the greater worldwide web chat session. This was a time of great growth and in many ways, the death of our dreams. For those in my generation who are in over their head in debt working jobs that they will not be secure in for the rest of their adult lives – maybe even working multiple jobs trying to make ends meet. Looking back can be bittersweet… and yet the pulse of our generation continues on.
