Korea’s Waterlilies

I love Monet’s art. So I feel naturally drawn to try to paint waterlilies when I can. For this piece I wanted to paint a view of Hwasung Fortress which I have painted many parts of but to feature the water pond. There is a lot of lore and pride in that pond. Often I would see photographers with huge lenses focusing on birds, or the sky reflecting on the water. I just wanted to encapsulate the cool loveliness of a crisp autumn day at the pond, looking at the waterlilies.
