“Little One”
Abstract Acrylic on Canvas – March 2015
The goal of this one, pure and simple was a pop art Maki. I love our little kitty and I definitely want to incorporate pop art versions of ourselves into the studio for filming purposes but haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to do this yet. This was a canvas trial run that turned into a more meaningful piece.
You see, I was getting ready to go visit my sister and her new baby. I love little ones and though I don’t want to say that the biological clock is ticking, I do have a lot of friends with kids and I have been hearing a lot “When are you going to have a little one”. Someday that time will probably come. Right now though, my house is a wreck as we try to redo it, and I don’t even have a fully functioning kitchen. The last thing that I should be focusing on is trying to have a kid. But in a way I already do. Maki is such a joy to us. She’s always following me around or is nearby. She likes to eat with us and snuggle with me and in many ways reminds me of myself – though she does have her dad’s temper!
