Neon Maki

Neon Maki is a longer-term project. It was painted over multiple sessions.. and took the longest time to finally come to being as a painting that I love. The initial idea was to paint our girl using neon and glow in the dark paints.. just because I love working with them and thought it would be fun. What emerged was something that went in “the pile of unfinished projects” for a while. Then one day, I bought a slew of paint pens. And with that, Neon Maki came out and became complete. If I had to say what I really loved about this piece, it would be the texture and dimensionality and how I watched what looked like an angry piece transform into something quite adorable!
