“Roses for Mama”

My mother died back in 2008. However, her favorite flower was always roses and to make her happy we had planted a rose garden in our backyard. I also used to sketch her roses as she had once doodled for me when I was little. This will be my first mother’s day in the US since her death and next week I will go take roses to her grave. But as I know in death that her spirit lives on I figured that I would paint her a rose garden as she (would have) appreciated that more than the bouquet itself.
