This canvas had been sitting around after I had done an initial abstract sketch on it. This gave me some direction, but as it was a big canvas, I didn’t want to do anything until I was sure the direction that I was going to go.

I knew however, that I wanted to do something that represented the beauty of nature and the trees. As every spring I find myself painting cherry blossoms I decided that would be a good direction to go with the large canvas.

Having been in a finger painting mood lately it seemed like the perfect size canvas to work with. What emerged is a beautiful scene with texture and depth unlike anything I’ve quite done before.
