June was a crazy month. I started it off by spending several days in rural Pennsylvania with my brother and his wife (who recently retired from the military) and three of their kids. My father had rented a cabin not far from his house that was out in the middle of the woods. It was so lush, green and quiet. It was quite a lovely respite and a fantastic place to catch up on years of time spent apart around the campfire under the stars. This painting was created sitting on the front porch and is my attempt at capturing the scenery from that particular perspective. It also marks my first time painting with this particular niece and nephew as they worked on their own canvases next to mine.
