The noble indignation
Fiercer than religious faith;
The burning passion
Stronger than love.

O, a soul redder than poppies flowed
On waves bluer than cornflower.

The fair eye-lashes trembled;
The pomegrantate lips kissed Death.

O, a soul reddier than poppies flowed
On waves bluer than cornflower.

The flowing river will remain forever blue;
The beautiful soul will remain forever red.

To me this painting represents my current self, where I have come and where I see myself going. I have seen and heard things that many my age have not, though many others in more impoverished countries have seen and experienced far worse. While I have not been without fear at times, I feel that having seen and had these experiences while it could have broke me, it hasn’t but rather made me a stronger and more beautiful person – at least beautiful in that I want to use my life to make the world better instead of just expect the world to be at my beck and call.
