“The Dock of the Bay”

This is the first painting I did that was wholly inspired and brought about by you guys (and my dad.. but he watches too!) Using some photo inspiration from the ‘ol man, I explored and in my opinion conquered the obstacle that was a new set of paint and new brushes! I write that casually, but often I use a huge variety of pre-mixed colors and then only mix them lightly as I paint. However, with the new shades (of which I used 6 I believe), I had to create my own color palette which was a challenge. I do like doing that though – testing my creativity and forcing myself to think outside of the box. I feel that it causes me to learn more and perhaps even evolve faster as an artist. However, it does make it difficult if not impossible to recreate things…
