“Treasure”

This is a painting I did for my dad as a joint Christmas and Housewarming present. He just bought a house in Florida and graciously allows us to not only use his house for a month every year but considered us when buying the house. In November when we were staying there he came down and we got to talking about paintings he liked and various elements that he likes in paintings. This is a compilation of some of those things. A faceless girl, possibly of native american origin (my mother was part native american), flowing gem-like water on a beach scene and beautiful sunset skies.

Initially she was going to face away but I like the change as well as the shell (and pearl) which I picked up on the day we spent together at the beach.

I treasure those moments.
