I’ve been waiting for a month like this from Japanese dramas for a LONG time!!! I became almost uncontrollably excited when I was researching this video when I saw many of my favorite Jdrama actors and actresses in leading roles this month. Now I may not be able to pronounce all their names to save my life, but Jdramas are my first love in the Asian drama world and it looks like it’s going to be a good months for TV in Japan.

Take Juri Ueno. I’ve seen her in several amazing dramas, including ‘Last Friends’ and ‘Nodame Cantabile’. (The latter is actually being remade in Korea later this year I believe!) As soon as saw she was being featured in ‘Alice’s Thorn’ this month, that was one indication that this might be a great month of drama watching.

Or Erika Sawagiri. I absolutely adored her in ‘1 Liter of Tears’. Girl has serious acting chops! With her brazen nature, she hasn’t done a drama in years, so I’m really excited to see her in another drama.

And the menz in the dramas this month! OMG the guyz!!! Joe Odagiri! Ogari Shun! Satoshi Ono! Masato Sakai and more! That’s just a few of the names.

The drama I have my eye on the most keenly this month is Long Goodbye. The Korean drama ‘Inspiring Generation’ has really got me into the whole modern historical thing. And Japan does detective dramas so often that they have mastered it so well. This one is intriguing to me. Of course, that’s not the only detective drama I plan on checking out this month, and rarely ever watch them! I also really want to see an episode or two of River’s Edge Okawabata Detective Agency, particularly because I really Odagiri Joe in it. He’s done so few dramas that it’s amazing to me he’s in two of them this month.

So we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s looking promising this next month for us Jdrama lovers! And that’s a good thing!! ☺

Hi, Steph. After watching your review of One Liter of Tears, I am wondering if you have watched any of The Hours of My life yet? I bet you will say the same things about this drama if you watch it. It has been competed, and if you can stand the tears you can marathon it. It is my favorite drama so far.

I’ve been waiting to marathon this one until I’m in a particular mood. The thought of seeing Miura Haruma dying is going to be heartbreaking I’m sure.
