There’s nothing like a good Japanese Drama that is if you’re a die-hard Asian drama fan like me.

I have to say that I feel things are finally starting to turn around for Japanese dramas and I feel as though this year was the first glimpse I’ve had of a comeback of sorts since the Tohoku Earthquake on March 11, 2011 that left over 15,000 people dead and Japan struggling from the initial blast and aftershocks in the two years following. Maybe this is an overstatement, but I really don’t feel that it is. I feel justified saying how important this event was in the Japanese dorama world especially because the dramas are still talking about it this year. Your #9, Saikou no Rikon to be specific. I feel like for the first time Japan is finally starting to get its roots dug back in and they brought us some pretty awesome and memorable live action dramas for sure!

I actually am kind of kicking myself over now as I feel the voting list while good, could have been better. It’s so hard to narrow down great dramas and it’s oh so easy when writing up information to overlook some great pieces that get lost in the shuffle one way or another. A few other great dramas that I left out that I have to mention (thanks for the reminder) are Tokyo Bandwagon, Hakuba no Ojisama, and Saki. A huge thank you Arsen Igityan, ladysaotome and Karen Shortell for the corrections!!! I have posted them in this blog entry because they deserve to be recommendations. What can I say, as much as I’d like to be, I’m not perfect guys.

So, last week of classes and 1 week to go until the crazy full-fledged winter dramathon season for me starts. Some of these I’ve already seen, but I know there’s a few more that will be going on to my must see winter 2013-2014 list. How about you guys? Do you plan on watching any of these in the upcoming months?

I think the Itazura na Kiss and Last Cinderella are overrated. I have not seen Summer Nude, but it probably got to the top 3 because of Yamapi. My favorite Jdrama for 2013 is Soratobu Kouhoushitsu. The synopsis was a turnoff for me, but I decided to give it a try, and I was very surprise by how good this drama was. This is also my only time seeing Ayano Go in a cute role because I have seen him mostly in villainous roles. Haha.
