For many years I’ve loved manga and anime. For over 10 years now actually. Frequently when I have difficulties sleeping I turn to it because I don’t get too involved or have to think or even really be creative when reading or watching it. It’s like I can almost turn my mind off temporarily and just enjoy. This painting is a mixed media painting combining a manga character from a food story with something that I found quite sweet – a giant oversized cupcake! To make it extra, it glows in the dark, because frankly who doesn’t want sprinkles that glow in the dark on their cupcakes?? Especially since you can’t actually eat it!
