Spring is certainly in the air early this year! And while there’s by all appearances not a lot of “romance” dramas this month, there will be a lot of dramatic intrigue to keep your attention.

Some issues that I think Korean dramaland is taking the lead on this month:

Suicide prevention – one of the biggest issues in Korea is that it retains one of the highest suicide rates in the world.ย  A drama that shows the importance of life such as in Radiant Office could be so helpful in working towards changing hearts and mindsets about suicide.

How far Korea has come in the last 30 years. Tunnel may just be a time travel drama but I think it’s significant that Korea has head and shoulders transformed itself since the 1980s.ย  I had read about it but what really made me think was Reply 1988. And now they’re one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. Can you imagine just jumping ahead like that – mindblowing!

The Japanese occupation of the 1930’s in Chicago Typewriter. Still one of the most controversial topics and times in Korean history. It’s a hot button issue and I hope that it’s handled properly. Also does this refer to the Chicago style of formatting because seriously who uses that? I had to write a few papers that way and it was aggravating.

Lastly with The Liar and His Lover, the importance of honesty. With the lack of trust for those in power and the people starting to turn against chaebols, it’s good timing for a drama that has an element of romance and fantasy that also combines a story that talks about the importance of truth and trust.

I’m just sayin.. What are you most looking forward to watching?? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Drama Watching everyone!! ๐Ÿ™‚
